Position title: Strategy Consultant
Department: Strategy & Insights
Position band: Consultant/Supervisory (Global Grade 3)
Reports to: Senior Manager, Strategy & Planning
Type of position: Full-time, Contract (1-Year Contract)

The Opportunity
The Strategy Consultant is responsible for providing reporting and analysis support for the Strategy & Planning team, and broader enterprise. Based in Toronto, the candidate will build reporting solutions to help understand what drives our business’ current performance and help inform strategy of what will drive performance in the future. This position is an excellent match for someone with strong business acumen and passion for data insights, leveraging a balance of technical and consultative skills.

Principal Accountabilities
In addition to following McDonald’s policies and procedures, principal accountabilities include, but are not limited to:

Reporting and Insights

  • Support key enterprise insights and reporting deliverables (daily, weekly, monthly) cadence
  • Champion setting of corporate targets their calibration and reporting against them
  • Contribute to the development and adoption of new datasets and relevant tools to optimize efficiency of reporting

Enterprise Forecasting

  • Provide guidance around business performance and outlook through frequent senior leadership engagement
  • Evolve the projection of business trajectory and key contributing factors to performance
  • Routinely assess performance against forecast and make adjustments to latest outlook as applicable

Strategic Analytics

  • Leverage internal and external data sources to uncover insights for a holistic understanding and communication of business performance
  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to support the development of quarterly and annual strategic plans and reporting
  • Support ad hoc business inquiries on enterprise level performance evaluation
Qualifications:
  • Work experience: 3-5 years’ experience in data analysis or reporting position in a marketing, business, research or analytics department
  • Education: An undergraduate degree with a data, analytics or business focus
  • Experience in building dashboards and reports with various KPIs for a wide range of stakeholders
  • Experienced and capable in working in face paced, agile, and sometimes high-pressure environment
  • Strong communication and presentation delivery skills and drive for success
  • Knowledge of SQL & MS Office proficiency (specifically Excel, PowerPoint) is essential
  • Intermediate to advanced skills in Tableau and/or other similar dashboarding tools
  • Dedicated self-starter who can work independently to provide timely support for weekly, monthly, quarterly and ad-hoc reporting.
