Department Overview

This position is on the Global Strategic Sourcing Services (GSSS) team within McDonald’s Global Supply Chain organization. GSSS is a progressive team that contributes directly to the bottom-line performance of the company, consulting with leaders throughout the organization to support initiatives that are driving McDonald’s into the future.

 

The Marketing Sourcing team works to maximize McDonald’s marketing investment via best-in-class marketing sourcing practices across Creative, Media, Merchandising, PR/Communications, Events/Activations, Family, CRM/Digital, Sponsorships/Alliances, and Production sub-categories. Category leads within this group are expected to partner with the Global Marketing corporate-level business function, Regional Marketing, US Marketing, and other stakeholders from across our international markets.

Duties

Key activities include - but are not limited to - category strategy development, agency identification & selection, contract negotiations, scoping, rate and resource benchmarking, agency performance management, partnership objectives, and measurement.

 

The Marketing Sourcing Supervisor reports to the Marketing Sourcing Manager and will work closely with other team members and stakeholders at McDonald’s HQ and in markets throughout the world.

 

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Stakeholder engagement & relationship management, proactively building relationships with relevant marketing stakeholders and agency partners
  • Lead agency scoping, negotiation, and contracting for assigned categories
  • Analyze costs/fee and resource plans
  • Negotiate commercial and operational terms
  • Develop and execute negotiation plans to ensure terms are achieved
  • Drive agency performance management, including reviews, debriefs, and remediation
  • Stay current on supplier trends, industry developments, and competitive insights
  • Develop category strategies and execution plans, ensuring stakeholder buy-in
  • Develop materials for leadership updates, stakeholder training, and awareness
  • Oversee supplier/agency selection (RFPs/pitches), from market analysis to final award
  • Create and refine tools, templates, and policies to support sourcing excellence
  • Support other strategic projects aligned to category strategy, stakeholder needs, and business priorities

Qualifications

  • 4-year accredited degree required, Bachelors’ Degree in Business, Supply Chain, or Marketing preferred
  • Minimum of 3+ years’ experience in strategic sourcing, marketing, agency operations or commensurate experience in related functions. Previous experience in Marketing Sourcing preferred
  • Working knowledge of sourcing methodologies such as spend analysis, RFP processes, supplier negotiations & selection, performance management, category management, and basic understanding of contractual terms and conditions. Knowledge of Marketing Sourcing methodologies (including agency scoping/negotiations, selection, evaluation, & management) is a plus
  • Strong project management skills and experience balancing multiple priorities effectively.
  • Strong data analysis skills and experience developing data-based recommendations.
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • Strong communication skills: ability to create and present both written and verbal communications to varying audiences in a confident, clear and concise manner
  • Ability to focus attention on what matters most, reprioritizing often to support dynamic business needs
  • Models McDonald’s values (Serve, Inclusion, Integrity, Community, Family) in ways of working

Salary Range

The expected salary range for this role is $75,700.00 - $94,620.00 per year
