Job Description:

The Commercial Products & Platforms team develops digital experiences and global technology platforms that delight our customers and enable them to order on their terms, across channels and touch points, optimally and conveniently.

You'll play a pivotal role in architectural design, development, and evolution of key integrations with a diverse range of food delivery fulfillment and logistics partners internationally. Your expertise will support the detailed operation of our industry-leading coordinated McDelivery and third-party ordering platforms, which are fundamental parts of daily life for millions of customers around the world.

In this role, you’ll be accountable for the technical development, execution, and continuous improvement of our logistics and delivery integrations, orchestrators, and microservices. You will lead engineering teams to craft, develop, test, and deploy robust backend solutions that streamline order routing, tracking, and fulfillment processes, ensuring an outstanding ordering experience for customers ordering delivery in our apps.

The Tech Lead, Delivery Logistics Platform will operate within the Customer Technology organization, supplying to the strategic improvement of McDonald’s digital products and platforms as we continue our journey towards modernization and globalization.

  • 5+ years of experience in technical or software engineering roles with a focus on backend systems and integrations, showing a clear progression in technical and leadership responsibilities.
  • Hands-on experience crafting and implementing scalable and resilient backend services, with experience in the context of real-time delivery and logistics a plus.
  • Proficiency in Agile software development methodologies and a track record of leading engineering teams within this framework.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with a capacity for coaching and mentoring team members.
  • Excellent communication abilities, capable of simplifying sophisticated technical concepts for non-technical partners.
  • Deep understanding of cloud technologies, continuous integration/deployment practices, and test automation strategies.
  • A dedication to quality, with a focus on delivering high-quality technical solutions and a steadfast attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in computer science, software engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Specific experience in the QSR industry, with a focus on logistics and last-mile delivery solutions, preferred.
  • Familiarity with AWS and/or [[Google Cloud|Google Cloud Platform]] technologies.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally for project achievements and in-person workshops.
