Department Overview
As the Senior Manager, Learning and Development within U.S. Learning Optimization, you will be part of the U.S. People Solutions during a period of unprecedented innovation and advancement. You will partner across Global People Solutions and with cross functional sponsors and partners leading and supporting efforts to evolve, build, reimagine and ultimately scale robust solutions across the system in the U.S. Market. This work is aimed at enabling people to learn in ways that drive consistent, high performance, for individuals and the business (as articulated in the "Own our Ambition" strategic plan). You will report to the Director, Learning and Development, and lead a team of individuals managing projects and evaluating and measuring the impact of learning solutions across the US Market.
Job Responsibilities
- Orchestrate the U.S. Market Learning Strategy, aligning it with global strategies and integrating U.S. Market needs through strategic planning.
- Maximize efficiency through continuous collaboration, planning, and advocacy with critical partners.
- Oversee multiple projects and partnerships, establishing governance processes to find synergies and opportunities for improvement.
- Lead direct and dotted line reports, providing direction, coaching, and support for performance and professional development.
- Engage with stakeholders, cross-functional partners, franchise owners, and learners to conduct needs analyses and develop relevant learning solutions.
- Guide content design and development for U.S. Market needs, collaborating on global design work and advocating for the U.S. Market.
- Ensure high-quality, on-time, and on-budget project delivery through strong project management, identifying integration opportunities.
- Manage stakeholder engagement, including external vendors, to ensure collaboration and relevancy of strategic projects.
- Define and manage Learning Measurement and Analytics strategy and tools for the U.S. Market, ensuring alignment with global strategy.
- Monitor, analyze, and manage all U.S. Learning and Development budgets.
- Stay updated with business and Learning and Development knowledge to optimize learning solutions and improve the learner’s experience.
- Willingness to travel as needed (~30%)
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree in Human Resources or related field preferred.
Experience: Minimum five years in learning & development, covering design, delivery, technology/systems, measurement, and project management. Previous management experience with high-performance teams.
Skills:
- Excellent coaching and mentoring abilities, with a proven track record of improving team performance.
- Practical experience with adult learning theory and principles.
- Exceptional project management skills, capable of handling complex and evolving work.
- Proven experience in creating and implementing measurement strategies, tools, and reports.
- Advanced data analytical skills to influence learning strategies based on trends.
- Strong social, communication, and presentation skills.
- Solid influencing, negotiation, and advocacy abilities to maintain collaborative relationships.
- Ability to engage with all organizational levels, from crew to franchise owners.
- Strong business insight to link business challenges with learning and development solutions.
- Experience working cross-culturally in a global environment.
Compensation
Salary Range
Salary Ranges - $129,800 - $165,490

Benefits eligible: This position offers health and welfare benefits, a 401(k) plan, adoption assistance program, educational assistance program, flexible ways of working, and time off policies (including sick leave, parental leave, and vacation/PTO). Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on job classification and length of employment.
Bonus eligible: This position is eligible for a bonus, calculated based on individual and company performance.
Long term Incentive eligible: This position is eligible for stock or other equity grants pursuant to McDonald’s long-term incentive plan.
