Within Global Impact, a dedicated North America Impact team brings together Brand and Business Communications, State and Local Government Relations, Community Engagement, Sustainability and ESG, and the Canada Impact team to support priorities across our U.S. and Canada footprint.

 

We are seeking a Senior Manager of Field Communications to drive internal communications strategy and alignment for the 10 local Field Offices that make up McDonald’s U.S. business. The Senior Manager serves as a key conduit to Field Office leadership, staff and restaurant owner/operators, and plays a critical role in ensuring the Field is working towards one cohesive Impact plan. 

 

This position will be based in Chicago and report directly to the Director of U.S. Field Communications & PR.

Duties

Oversee a team of five Field Communications Managers

  • Grow and develop the skills and careers of direct reports through effective people management

Lead the development and execution of the team’s local Impact strategies - which are designed to cascade McDonald’s national priorities and narrative locally in all 10 Field Offices

  • Optimize the use of communications channels, cadence and voices
  • You will work closely with the Senior Manager of Field Public Relations, who leads local external communications

Serve as the go-to communications counselor for McDonald’s National Field President externally and across the McDonald’s System (including social media, speaking engagements, etc.)

  • You will partner with the U.S. Enterprise Communications team to ensure the National Field President serves as a key voice of the U.S. enterprise narrative

Build strong relationships with restaurant owner/operators, including relevant franchisee leadership groups

Lead the communications strategy for annual U.S. Field and owner/operator events

Qualifications

BA/BS degree required

Experience leading a team

Proven ability and expertise in internal communications (external experience a plus)

  • Sophisticated written communications and presentation skills
  • In-depth knowledge of communication strategies, tools and vehicles

Proven ability to influence and effectively work with senior leadership (i.e., executive-level communications)

Ability to navigate, orchestrate and work through complex issues

Proven ability to adapt quickly to a fast-paced environment and support multiple high priority work streams

High level of strategic focus and perspective and tactical ability to deliver

Salary Range

Salary Ranges-$129,800.00 - $165,490.00
