Job Description:The Sr Manager, SRE for Global Mobile App will directly report to the Director of the DevOps COE within our Commercial Platform and Products group in Global Technology. This is an excellent opportunity for a senior leader to craft and mature the SRE function for our Global Mobile Application! The successful candidate in this role will lead a team to monitor and improve our reliability, quality and time to market along with maturing our operational excellence for our mobile solutions.
Accountabilities and Responsibilites
- Oversight on design decisions and guides team to achieve key results for products assigned to them
- Remediates issues using engineering principles and creates proactive design solutions for potential failures
- Lead a team of site reliability engineers that responsible for building the continuous reliability mentality, shepherding problem management and driving key site reliability engineering practices into the organization
- Design and drive monitoring, alerting and ticket reporting strategies to measure SLA, SLO, MTTI, MTTR and align with management expectations to reduce/minimize prod downtime
- Guide site reliability automation to help eliminate manual toil and build a self-healing capability
- Participate in selection of appropriate automation tools, defining technology, quality, experience and implementation standards and practices within own technical domain
- Bachelors Degree in Technology or related professional work experience
- 5+ years professional experience as a SRE with at least 3+ years as a people manager or similar positions
- Experience with SRE design to address reliability and resiliency with availability
- Experience in working in a cloud environment
- Experience in mobile development on iOS and Android
- Strong experience with DevOps (CI/CD pipelines with Jenkins or similar; Git/GitHub)
- Proven skills in high availability and scalability design, as well as performance monitoring and testing
- Extremely comfortable with production environments, firewalls, and networking
- Strong experience in deploying, observing, altering, logging, and monitoring systems (New Relic, Data dog or similar tool) with an approach towards predictive analysis
- Experience partnering with collaborators with good interpersonal and written communication skills.
