Department Overview

The Specialist, Finance will provide accounting support for Ronald McDonald House Global to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting. The Specialist, Finance will primarily be responsible for the cash disbursement process, the credit card process, and assisting with the audit & tax processes as well as other projects.

Duties

 Cash disbursement process

  • Reviewing invoices for proper approval, budget compliance, ensuring W-9s are on file, and entering new vendors in the general ledger software
  • Analyzing and ensuring proper coding of accounts payable invoices with GL account, project, and 1099 amount.
  • Performing detailed allocations of certain expenses to accounts/projects when appropriate.
  • Working with RMH Global Staff and vendors to resolve invoice issues (e.g., missing documentation, outstanding payments)
  • Preparing wire and/or EFT payments.
  • Uploading payee information to the bank website and verifying any exceptions from the bank
  • Uploading EFT information into RADAЯ (Chapter reporting system) and providing documentation to Chapters when appropriate

Credit Card Administration Process

  • Leading the RMH MasterCard process by reviewing charges to ensure they are appropriate and supported with documentation in line with company policy, investigating differences with appropriate personnel, and training new individuals on card usage and access
  • Maintain the MasterCard Portal

Audit & Tax Processes

  • Assist with the year-end external audit process by pulling documents for team review and audit submission
  • Prepare tax supporting documentation for the IRS Form 990
  • Prepare state and federal 1099s, as well as other federal payment forms, including but not limited to IRS Form 1042, to ensure compliance with legal requirements surrounding payments

 

 

Qualifications

Professional Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting
  • 1-2 years of relevant experience, public accounting and CPA preferred

Required Knowledge / Skills

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, including adapting to shifting priorities and continuous process changes
  • Ability to learn quickly
  • Ability to work effectively in a highly collaborative team environment
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Microsoft Power Suite and have the ability to quickly learn other software applications necessary to complete daily tasks
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Outstanding analytical abilities
  • Initiative and creativity in finding efficiencies, including leveraging technology
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills

Salary Range

The expected salary range for this role is $62,598.00 - $78,248.00 per year
