Job Description:As a SOX Audit Manager at McDonald’s, you will play a crucial role in advancing the company’s strategy for global SOX compliance. Your responsibilities will include developing and executing the risk-based SOX global audit plan, overseeing compliance activities across multiple markets, and collaborating with various stakeholders. You will assist the SOX Senior Manager in managing a team of auditors, provide guidance and mentorship, and work closely with external partners. This role is pivotal in ensuring the effectiveness of internal controls and driving continuous improvement in SOX compliance processes.
What will my accountabilities be?
- Assist in the development and execution of the strategy for the Global SOX compliance program.
- Assist in the development and execution of the risk-based SOX global audit plan, and oversight of SOX compliance activities related to six markets with full scope requirements (US, Corporate, UK, Germany, France, Australia) and several markets which are new to scope with limited scope requirements (Italy, Spain, Canada). This includes the coordination and review of all planning, fieldwork, exception reporting, and remediation follow-up.
- Involved in the ‘first and second tranche’ evaluation of risks and controls for various transformation initiatives (e.g., Global Finance Modernization, Global People Modernization, and Global Indirect Procurement Modernization) that will significantly impact SOX compliance requirements.
- Interface with external partners on control testing and reliance, related exceptions, conclusions, and remediation efforts. Work closely with the Controls organization being stood up in CCG.
- With the SOX Senior Manager, manage a team of auditors, providing guidance, support, and mentorship to ensure successful project execution and build exciting roles.

The expected salary range for this role is $112,860-$143,900 per year

- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Qualified accountant - (e.g., CPA, CIA) preferred.
- SOX & Controls: Experience in internal or external SOX compliance and controls.
- Strong understanding of SOX requirements and internal control frameworks.
- Professional experience within Big 4 or medium sized firm.
- People Management / Coaching Experience
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship management skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
