Job Description:

The Restaurant Experience Team has a global responsibility, working with development leads for US, IOM, and IDL Segments & Global Development team to identify and address opportunities to elevate the customer & and employee experience, fueling the ability to accelerate new store development & and grow sales of the existing portfolio. The scope includes but is not limited to the following: Experience Strategy (eg incl Memories Together & Simply Easy Discovery Spaces), Interior Decors, Customer & Crew Components & and Corporate Design. In addition, to collaborate across Global, Segment and market leadership teams to enable the creation of shared talent pipelines for restaurant design and development capabilities in partnership with People teams.

Job Responsibilities

  • Contribute to elevating CX & EX through aesthetic/experiential design/solutions.
    • The scope can include interior/terrace decors, crew facilities, brand extensions, family & play, acoustics, lighting, addressing sustainability challenges, optimizing initial investment and efficiency of operation, all while ensuring solutions stay true to brand and allow markets sufficient license to address local constraints/conditions. Note: restaurant architecture (layouts/configurations, façade design & exterior signage), rests with the Restaurant Model Team.
  • Provide input/expertise in designing immersive and memorable physical experiences that engage the senses and evoke emotions to keep tempting customers back to our restaurants and continue to attract staff.
  • Consult with MHQ facilities and WWC teams on Corporate Design initiatives.
  • Establish briefs capturing the requirements to be satisfied by new global restaurant design solutions.
  • Lead to the creative process to develop restaurant design concepts to satisfy the established briefs that have global applicability.
  • Engage with internal and external partners to produce successful design solutions that holistically address the needs of the business and its application globally.
  • Perform supplier/consultant identification & development.
  • Pursue prototyping of components/materials & refinements of pilots in market 0/1 to test design solutions and refine as needed to facilitate effective scaling globally.
  • Adapt or enhance quality or value in existing methods; make them better as part of day-to-day activities.
  • Collaborate with & support Integration Team on:-
    • Establishment of approvals for any products/solutions required by the aesthetic/experiential design that need to be integrated into GRS (eg lockers)
    • Production of guidelines and training of Segment teams to facilitate excellence in design deployment.
    • Inquiries from Segment (high profile locations/those demanding unique solutions, concept localization)
    • Design of Brand Flagship locations
    • Engineering etc solutions/standards to facilitate procurement by GSSS.
    • On ‘seeding’ new experience designs in Segments
  • Transfer knowledge to the design activation team to allow them to create guidelines and training materials for global scaling.
  • Contribute to supporting the development of talent across various Markets, and Global and Segment teams to help develop a pool of strong restaurant design and/or development professionals.
  • Engagement of all internal and external stakeholders is required to produce a successful design solution that holistically addresses the needs of the business.
  • Influence without the direct exercise of command; persuasion is required to effect change.
  • Demonstrate strong communication skills allowing to engage with individuals who may hold different perspectives but share a common interest, primarily motivated by a shared goal of finding a resolution.
  • Play an active role in contributing to the performance of the Team.
  • BA or equivalent in architecture or experiential design
  • 5 years of experience in multi-site food and beverage design.
  • Requires sophisticated knowledge of specific technical/operational practices.
  • Proven track record driving outcomes with internal and external partners
