Job Description:

We are on a multi-year journey to modernize how we operate as a finance function.  Global Finance Modernization is an extensive global project covering all areas of finance and its related operating model. As we continue to modernize how we operate within our Finance function, McDonald’s Global Business Service (GBS) organization has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Manager, Accounting Operations.

You will be supporting various international markets in our International Operated Market Business Unit (IOMBU) to drive execution of core end-to-end accounting processes and activities. The ideal candidate will be able to oversee the accounting processes across several markets and bring a strong technical aptitude, excellent leadership skills, and process and continuous improvement mindset.

The candidate is expected to reside in Poland.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide guidance and escalation support as needed based on volume of work tasks.
  • Oversee the assistant finance controller teams within several IOMBU markets.
  • Accountable for the accuracy and quality of the work coming out of the third-party provider as well as in-market GBS finance teams.
  • Ability to use discretion to determine when something needs to escalate up to the market controller or relationship manager.
  • Close collaboration with Market Finance, Enterprise, and third-party (Scaled Services) teams.
  • Work with third-party provider to implement new accounting policies and processes.
  • Partner with our Global Process Leaders and other Sr. Managers, Accounting Operations to drive consistency in process and reporting as we establish an increased level of global processes.
  • Supervise and manage a team of at least 5 individuals, providing coaching and guidance to foster a collaborative and productive work environment.

Background & Experience required:

  • Proven ability to successfully work with and manage third-party provider(s).
  • Proven ability in applying continuous improvement to processes to drive efficiency.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills: able to present and convey financial information clearly and effectively to stakeholders at all levels.
  • Demonstrates experience in customer - focused approach with commitment to delivering high-quality service and support to stakeholders.
  • Direct experience in managing a team and ability to provide coaching and guidance to execute work.
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines managing multiple key business priorities.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Professional certifications such as CPA (Certified Public Accountant), CMA (Certified Management Accountant), or local equivalent qualifications preferred
