Job Description:

The GBS (Global Business Services) Finance - North America team is responsible for recording and reporting on real estate transactions for over 2,000 franchisees and more than 15,000 restaurants in the U.S. and Canada. They are responsible for the calculation and billing of rents and service fees to franchisees and tenants, all lease related and real estate tax payment and accounting activities, and construction project and fixed asset accounting processes.

Based out of our global headquarters in the West Loop in downtown Chicago, the Lease Accounting Senior position within GBS offers a tremendous opportunity for an individual to gain a broad understanding of the various functions and inputs within McDonald’s leasing transactions as well as gaining exposure to our global business environment.

Responsibilities

  • Review work and support team in preparing monthly, quarterly & annual reconciliations and reporting as well as monthly close responsibilities. This includes reviewing TRIRIGA work for finance approval as well as proper accounting treatment in alignment with FASB regulations.
  • Analyze, review and approve manual contracts and CAM reconciliations managed by McDonald’s third-party partner.
  • Review processes and procedures to ensure compliance with all SOX and McDonald’s internal controls.
  • Participate & supervise team for quarterly & annual financial statement audits with internal and external auditors.
  • Oversee a team of lease analysts -Hire, train, develop and motivate direct reports and team.
  • Remove operational barriers & support team in resolving accounting and IT issues.
  • Provide recommendations to improve accounting processes and procedures.
  • Supports team in the execution of GBS continuous improvement strategy.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with accounting staff, key customers, business partners and collaborators.
  • Share responsibility for the supervision of US accounting processes through preparation of operational metrics for leadership.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is required.
  • 3+ years of prior accounting experience is required; lease experience is preferred.
  • Prior management / supervisory experience is preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products is required. Knowledge of TRIRIGA and Oracle is preferred.
