Job Description:McDonald's International Developmental Licensee (IDL) Markets Segment / Business Unit (BU) the delivery and operation of core technology solutions across 79 markets, supporting 19,000+ restaurants and offices. Our mission is to implement innovative, secure, and scalable technology that enhances customer experiences and drives business success.
The Senior Director, IDL BU Technology is a strategic leadership role responsible for guiding technology adoption and execution across 29 markets within the Latin America Business Unit representing $6B+ in sales. Reporting to the Global Technology CTO, IDL, this role ensures alignment with global technology standards, drives efficiency, and supports market CIOs in implementing enterprise-wide solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership
- Provide executive-level guidance to market CIOs on McDonald’s global technology strategy, mission, and standards.
- Develop and lead BU-wide technology programs, ensuring effective execution across multiple markets.
- Partner with Global Technology, suppliers, and key stakeholders to ensure seamless integration and adoption of technology solutions.
Technology Execution & Governance
- Oversee technology implementations, ensuring compliance with global standards and security protocols.
- Drive adoption of enterprise technology solutions, fostering operational efficiency and cost savings.
- Establish governance frameworks to monitor performance, ensure best practices, and enhance deployment processes.
Stakeholder Management
- Collaborate with BU leadership, global technology teams, and market executives to align technology priorities with business objectives.
- Serve as the primary technology advisor for the BU, ensuring key stakeholders are aligned on long-term strategic direction.
- Communicate technology advancements and value to internal and external stakeholders through structured engagement.
Financial Planning & Resource Management
- Support multi-year technology investment planning (CapEx/OpEx) to ensure sustainable growth and innovation.
- Provide guidance on budgeting, resource allocation, and financial oversight of technology initiatives.
- Work with markets to develop cost-effective and scalable technology solutions.
Change Management & Continuous Improvement
- Drive a culture of innovation and continuous improvement, ensuring that technology enhances business performance.
- Lead transformation initiatives, remove barriers to adoption, and promote standardization across markets.
- Share best practices across markets through regular briefings, knowledge-sharing forums, and CIO meetings.

The expected salary range for this role is $193,610- $251,690 per year

- Proven leadership in large-scale global technology operations.
- Experience managing and developing multinational teams.
- Building strong relationships with and influencing leadership, stakeholders and partners
- Strong ability to build relationships and influence senior stakeholders, CIOs, and business leaders.
- Expertise in technology transformation, governance, and strategic planning.
- Strong financial acumen, including knowledge of CapEx/OpEx planning and investment strategies.
- Excellent communication and change management skills to drive adoption and alignment.
- Experience in the Retail or QSR industry, overseeing technology transformation and operations.
