Job Description:

Position Purpose

Provide architectural services regarding building design and construction documents, including building systems integration. Coordinate the efforts of other RDG fields. Support the individual development of other studio and department members regarding architecture. Key customers include owner/operators, regional, divisional, and corporate staff.

Principal Accountabilities

In addition to following McDonald’s policies and procedures, principal accountabilities include, but are not limited to:

Business Results

  • Supports the implementation of the department vision within the studio.
  • Identifies project scope and work scheduling needs to ensure that multiple projects are completed on schedule.
  • Assists in determining and coordinating the technical solutions for specific aspects of the project.
  • Accountable for determining the appropriate building components and their design application, including code compliance.
  • Reviews that construction documents incorporate applicable regional preferences, standards, design criteria and codes.
  • Evaluates how project related decisions impact development costs and owner/operator profitability.
  • Serves as professional liaison with non-traditional venue leaders (malls, colleges, transportation, recreation, etc.).

Customer

  • Coordinates the efforts of outside architectural consultants and suppliers for projects developed through corporate.
  • Contributes and/or presents to corporate/divisional/regional meetings and outside organizations.
  • Provides professional consultation to address problems/issues/questions received from: outside consultants, code officials, regional/divisional staffs or owner/operators.
  • Develops, maintains and implements regional preferences, field standards, and design criteria.

People

  • Assists in the professional growth, training, and development of outsourced A & E firms.
  • Actively participates in the transfer of knowledge and calibration across department teams.
  • Provides direction and coaching on the use of design guidelines and software.

 

Qualifications:
  • Must be fully vaccinated (i.e., at least 2 weeks after last dose) for COVID-19 and, if hired, present proof of vaccination by start date.
  • 3+ years related experience
  • Architecture Degree is required 
  • Eager to learn
  • Commercial, Retail, Restaurant industry experience preferred
