Could you be our Payroll Analyst (Reporting and Analytics)?
At McDonald’s Australia, we’re seeking a payroll professional with a passion for data and analytics to deliver meaningful payroll reporting and insights across the business. Supporting both Corporate and Restaurant operations, this role goes beyond standard reporting - analysing payroll and labour data, identifying trends and exceptions, and translating complex information into insights that inform operational, financial and compliance decisions.
What you can expect on a day-to-day basis:
- Owning the end‑to‑end delivery of payroll and labour reporting across weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual cycles
- Delivering restaurant and operations reporting including labour costs, wage variances, store costings and exception analysis
- Producing corporate and restaurant dashboards covering MTD, TTM, FTE, leave, parental leave and labour trends
- Completing statutory, year‑end and external reporting requirements, including audit support
- Analysing payroll and labour data to identify trends, anomalies and risks
- Clearly explaining variances, drivers and impacts to non‑technical stakeholders
- Responding to ad‑hoc analytical requests across Payroll, Finance, People and Operations
- Supporting informed decision‑making by translating data into actionable insights
- Maintaining and improving payroll reporting processes, controls and documentation
- Identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, accuracy and automation
- Designing and enhancing dashboards, templates and recurring reports
- Supporting data quality, reconciliations and integrity across payroll and finance systems
Your keys to success:
- Strong experience in payroll and labour reporting, ideally within a complex organisation
- Advanced Excel capability and strong data analysis skills
- Experience working with payroll systems and ERP / finance systems
- High attention to detail with the ability to manage recurring reporting cycles
- Confidence working independently while partnering with multiple stakeholders
- Strong communication skills and a continuous improvement mindset
