Department Overview
McDonald’s Global ESG Legal practice group is looking for a talented paralegal to join our growing team of legal professionals supporting McDonald’s in fulfilling its purpose: to feed and foster communities. If you are interested in environmental and social issues and have a willingness to learn an emerging area of law, this is your chance to join a high-functioning team. The ideal candidate is an intellectually curious self-starter who is eager to be trained and excited by the opportunity to work creatively in a dynamic practice area.
Duties
- Research, track and summarize ESG-related laws and enforcement trends relevant to the business
- Project manage development and review of external ESG communications, such as marketing, reporting and stakeholder inquiry responses
- Track ongoing status of ESG Legal projects, collaborating cross-functionally to establish project timelines and workflows
- Lead the maintenance and improvement of templates, forms and standardized processes relating to ESG Legal projects and initiatives, integrating new technologies and automation tools
- Manage outside counsel relationships and onboarding, including identify outside counsel and run requests for proposals; prepare, negotiate and facilitate execution of engagement letters; perform invoice review; approve timekeepers; set, track and manage against budgets; and ensure adherence to Department policies and procedures
- Serve as primary point of contact for team, including manage shared inbox and calendar
- Maintain shared workspaces and document management systems, including via iManage, SharePoint and Microsoft Teams
- Perform routine administrative support tasks for ESG Legal attorneys as needed, including schedule meetings, develop agendas, capture notes and prepare/process expense reports
Qualifications
- HS Diploma or Paralegal Certificate
- 1+ years of prior administrative and/or project management experience
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft 365/Office
- Adept at utilizing and adopting new technology to drive efficiencies
- Excellent analytical, organizational and communication skills
- Capacity to balance multiple priorities simultaneously, ensuring timely completion and adherence to quality standards
- Sound, reliable judgment in handling sensitive information
- Strong work ethic, adaptability and unwavering reliability
- Ability to work well both independently and collaboratively
- Motivation to grow professionally and develop strategic thinking skills
- Commitment to the Company’s core values: Serve, Inclusion, Integrity, Community and Family
- Prior paralegal experience at a law firm or in-house preferred
- Previous work experience at McDonald’s or with a comparable company/industry preferred

Salary Range
The expected salary range for this role is $38.82- $48.52/ per hour
