Department Overview

The Corporate Insurance Department actively assesses business risk and exposures to design and develop insurance programs to protect and preserve the system’s global assets and earnings. Our vision is to establish a world-class, sustainable insurance risk management system that minimizes risk and potential threats while maximizing value to McDonald’s system. We are committed to protecting our people, assets, and Brand McDonald’s.
This role supports the McOpCo East District.

Duties

Provides support to US McOpCo in Loss Prevention efforts, including Prevention, Awareness, Compliance, Detection, Investigation, and Resolution.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Conduct market visits to review claims and safety performance, perform risk assessments, verify workplace safety, identify deficiencies, and provide coaching and training to improve performance.

Prevent and reduce insurance claims (employee and customer injuries) by:

  • Focusing on 5th quintile stores and top loss types

  • Monitoring timely claim reporting

  • Promoting the use of PPO posters and nurse triage

  • Overseeing safety shipments and shoe programs

  • Reviewing sensitive claim communications for appropriate follow-up

  • Supporting claims handlers throughout the claims process (e.g., surveillance, store contact, court hearings, etc.)

Attend McOpCo meetings (General Managers /District/McOpCo Extended Leadership Team/Ops Officer 1:1s).
Create awareness and communications about safety programs, processes, and results.
Ensure compliance through oversight of store audits, Health Department/Ecosure inspection follow-ups, OSHA reportable claims, OSHA complaint response coordination, and corrective actions.
Manage and optimize interactions with customers and stakeholders by ensuring that services and solutions are aligned with customer’s objectives and key strategies.
Analyze claims data to make informed decisions on preventing/reducing losses through focus on high frequency claim types and utilizes scorecards to communicate metrics to the field.
Promotes an environment of loss prevention by developing and providing tools, resources, and education to the field.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors or equivalent work experience
  • 5 years of experience in Claims, Safety/Risk Management, Operations, or equivalent
  • Experience with Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel is preferred
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to communicate insights to stakeholders
  • Ability to work in a dynamic environment
  • Skilled at networking within a large organization and developing trusted partnerships; able to influence through insights and collaboration.
  • Travel is required.

Salary Range

Salary Ranges- $112,860.00 - $143,900.00
