Job Description:

We are looking for a Manager to be a part of the Learning & Development Center of Excellence during a period of unprecedented innovation and advancement. With a long-standing commitment and investment in L&D, our strategy seeks to further evolve and accelerate learning as imperative for our business across the McDonald’s system.

In this role, you will partner with the Global Learning & Development Leadership Team, market teams and various teams within the business units to build the operational excellence infrastructure for Learning & Development globally. You will evolve, imagine and ultimately build the Strategy & Operations service line within the Global L&D Center of Expertise (COE). You will lead our financial strategy & execution, measurement & analytics efforts, and annual planning process.

Responsibilities:

Financial Strategy & Execution

  • Financial Planning: Financial oversight, planning and projection delivery for 6 Global and 4 US L&D budget accounts- 10 budgets total, including both G&A and project-based spend; Totaling $40M+.
  • Identify finance insights to support funding key priorities.
  • Provide thought partnership, financial guidance, and stewardship through tracking, counsel, and regular communication/updates to key stakeholders ensuring visibility and accuracy.
  • Serve as a Global People partner to the Business Advisory Services (BAU) team.
  • Track and record all spend variances, including stopped work, new work and people shifts through variance analysis, record keeping, invoice processing, journal entries, and chargebacks.
  • Manage any needed additions, reductions, self-solves, etc. 2025 Budget plan and proposal delivery for US & Corp.
  • Vendor management (Deal Review Board, Legal liaison, Beeline, GSSS Liaison, supplier governance)
  • Manage projection and forecasting process 4x a year (Analytics & Insights)

Measurement & Analytics Strategy Implementation

  • Update and iterate the L&D Global scorecard with key measurements + KPIs
  • Innovate our measurement & analytics strategy to ensure we are making progress toward the key pillars of being a Talent Magnet, fostering a strong Learning Culture, and being a Strategic Enabler through the business by identifying and reporting on key metrics
  • Continue to build out our strategy to include business performance insights (i.e. how does L&D contribute to key business metrics?)
  • Contribute to the Quarterly Business Review (QBR) process and meetings
  • Provide insights and foresights to L&D value and impact (both leading and lagging indicators)

Strategic Planning & Operational Excellence

  • Lead phase planning and annual planning process with Global People Strategy & Alignment leads, and serve as liaison with Leadership Team, and Markets (Manage calendaring and deployment integration)
  • Act as change management lead, partnering with L&D Ops Managers to integrate the team globally
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred
  • 5+ years’ of applicable work experience
  • Experience in learning & development strategy, design, development, and/or systems/technology with a proven track record of excellence
  • Demonstrated experience leading the execution of strategies/plans that delivered desired outcomes and strong business performance
  • Experience working cross-culturally and cross-functionally in a global and/or business environment
  • Expertise across a variety of training methods with an excellent ability to engage with people at all levels of an organization
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills. Solid influencing, negotiation and facilitation skills to champion and maintain collaborative relationships with peers and other key stakeholders, including senior leadership
  • Strong business acumen, with the ability to credibly make a business case, by linking current and anticipated business challenges with learning and development solutions
  • Ability to develop and translate strategic goals into successful deployment plans
  • Outstanding project management skills on complex and evolving work
  • Proven record of communicating and processing sophisticated and sensitive information
