Job Description:This position will develop and execute McDonald’s global restaurants and offices climate strategy with a focus on clean energy and sustainable restaurants, in partnership with markets and global functions.
Job Responsibilities
- Develop, execute, and evolve McDonald’s global restaurant and offices climate strategy in partnership with markets and global functions (finance, legal, supply chain, development, government relations, etc.) and external partners.
- Lead development of the global clean energy strategy and long-term oversight of execution, including management of the Clean Energy Cross-Functional Team
- Co-lead the global restaurant sustainability standards, guidelines, and guardrails, in partnership with global restaurant development and design teams.
- Facilitate best practice sharing with and amongst country teams and support local deployment of restaurant and offices climate strategies.
- Manage restaurant and offices carbon footprinting and reporting readiness.
- Deliver annual carbon footprint for restaurants and offices.
- Contribute subject matter expertise input into greenhouse gas data and reporting modernization efforts.
- Contribute to internal and external ESG communications, engagement, and reporting activities.
- Manage consultancy partners.
- Partner with relevant internal teams (Community, Government Relations, DEI, etc.) to identify, develop, and implement strategies around social/community impact, policy developments, community engagement, environmental justice, human rights, etc., as it relates to clean energy and climate.
- Develop and lead strong external partnerships with NGO and consultants. Maintain understanding of leading trends and changes in climate science, GHG accounting, clean energy, sustainable buildings, and other focus areas as program evolves, including regulatory issues and shaping policy, in partnership with Government Relations.

The expected salary range for this role is $112,860 - $143,900/ per year

Experience and Knowledge
- Minimum of 5+ years of post-college experience working in decentralized organizations, leading change management campaigns
- Deep knowledge of energy as it relates to global market dynamics, procurement, and policy.
- Strong knowledge of sustainable building elements.
- Experience with greenhouse gas inventory data collection and inventory measurement and reporting, and climate policy.
- BA/BS required.
- Preferred:
- Energy efficiency training (IEMA, EMA, Certified Energy Manager (CEM), or Certified Energy Procurement Professional (CEP))
- Experience related to finance, sustainability-related marketing, supply chain, operations, and/or regulatory issues
- Global environmental and social issues and related NGO landscape.
