Job Description:

The purpose is to be part of a team that helps International Markets excel at improving the physical restaurant experience/convenience we offer customers and employees.

This being done through the integration of designs, formats and solutions created by the IRLX (in Real-Life Experience) & New Concept Design group into our markets and restaurants, in collaboration with the broader CX Department. This group will truly ‘make CX real in the physical restaurant space’.

Affording markets, the opportunity to excel will require that this team maintain a deep appreciation of the opportunities existing or conditions seen, and the challenges being faced in the countries/ Business Units. Among other topics, these could relate to brand image/ positioning, channel mix, advancement in digital adoption, business/ franchisee situation, organizational structure, BU priorities, regulatory factors, competition, local internal and external resource capability etc.

All of which should be used to nourish the creation of briefs for the work of the IRLX & New Concept Design group and the strategical and tactical approach of the Restaurant Design Integration Team (International).

The successful performance of this role will be crucial to the company achieving its goals in the coming years. If we do not take full advantage of new designs, formats and solutions that are created, in the shortest period, our business runs the risk of falling behind the competition. Consequently, aside from the required close collaboration with market and BU teams, the role will require the incumbent to be engaged with other members of the recently established CX team and in dialogue/exchange with officers in the broader organization.

The position reports to the Corp Senior Director for Design Integration International and will work with other team members of the Restaurant and Development group and with the wider CX team in developing the performance of that global function and its impact for the benefit of customers, employees, the company, and franchisees, in the markets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Apply best in class 'ways of working' to assure use of global restaurant concepts/design solutions by high-profile international markets, aligned to standards, and ongoing appreciation of their concept needs to allow briefing of IRLX/NCD Team as relevant.
  • Partner with high-profile market 0, IRLX/NFD, BU's, other CX Departments, global design agencies/resources as relevant to effectively pilot new concepts/design solutions for restaurants, but also with international markets, BU's, other CX functions, global design agencies/resources on market pilots of new concept/design solution for restaurants
  • Establishing/maintaining trustful and resilient connections across all hierarchy levels to all relevant stakeholders to support, impact and influence on on-premises experience relevant topics as a valid advisor, partner, and supporter for high-profile international markets / BUs and other groups and functions of the Global Development team.
  • Improve customer/crew experience in high-profile international markets by facilitating integration of new concepts/design solutions (guidelines, educating market teams, up-skilling architects, facilitating localization of materials/components, etc)
  • Partner with relevant high-profile international market, IRLX/NCD Team and other CX Departments as relevant in supporting prototyping of new design formats/solutions for restaurants and with Investment Optimization
  • Support high-profile markets in their use of global designs on high profile restaurants in international markets.
  • Continual liaison and collaboration with Restaurant Design Integration Team (US), to share standard methodologies/knowledge and avoid duplication of effort.
  • When relevant provide input/insights/support as relevant to key collaborators from across the organization, working on multi-disciplinary projects.
Qualifications:

    Minimum Bachelor's level degree in architecture, design, business administration, business development is desirable, but is not a disqualifying criterion if very good cross-functional systems knowledge of McDonald's can otherwise be shown.
