Job Description:

The McDonald’s Corporate Controller Group is looking for an Analyst to join our team. This position offers a tremendous opportunity for an individual to gain a detailed perspective on our real estate & franchisee accounting processes. Our team is collaborative, team-oriented culture with expectations of individual building strong relationships with our key customers. Inclusive of the Corporate Controller Group Leadership, market finance teams including Global Business Services, Asset Management, Treasury, and Internal and External Audit.

This position calls for a person who is results-driven with strong organizational skills that can manage multiple priorities to meet tight financial close and reporting deadlines. Our environment is fast-paced and going through change, requiring the candidate to be able to help drive efficiencies.

Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Review and analyze of the impact of the lease accounting standard on McDonald’s consolidated internal and external financial statements.
  • Provide consultancy and act as a business SME on the leasing system, TRIRIGA, including identifying enhancements and answering questions on the monthly and quarterly close process.
  • Accountability for McDonald’s policies regarding the technical accounting behind the leasing standard.
  • Complete and ensure consistency and accuracy of accounting lease classification analysis for markets’ real estate portfolios
  • Monitoring and analysis of lease portfolio for consistency, standardization, and reasonableness across markets.
  • Preparation of disclosures for external financial statements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and/or Finance
  • CPA preferred
  • 2+ years of experience in the accounting industry and/or in financial services, big 4 public experience preferred
  • Exposure to Lease Accounting. Experience in TRIRIGA Lease Accounting System preferred.
  • Outstanding analytical abilities and communication skills
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively in team
  • Strategic problem solver
  • Initiative and creativity in finding efficiencies
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel and able to quickly learn other software applications vital to complete daily tasks
