Job Description:
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements including relevant market-specific regulations and local (e.g. Austrian & Swiss) statutory financial law
  • Ensure accurate and efficient market close process and financial statement preparation and review, including sub-certifying financial statements, ensuring compliance with GAAP, IFRS, and other regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare and review financial statements, ensuring compliance with GAAP, IFRS, and other regulatory requirements.
  • Support and contribute to the preparation and submission of quarterly and annual reports, including SEC filings (e.g., 10-K, 10-Q) and other regulatory reports.
  • Responsible for accurate and timely statutory reporting, including interaction with local market team, statutory auditors and regulators.
  • Ensure accurate and timely submission of data and other information needed to comply with ESG and other regulatory requirements, as applicable.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with internal teams, such as Accounting, Tax, and Treasury, to gather and validate financial information.
  • Provide local technical accounting advisory to market and Global Business Services (GBS) teams, ensuring market financial statements are in adherence to McABs (McDonald’s Accounting Policies), US GAAP and local statutory law.
  • Partnering with CFO and FP&A manager for market financial statement sign-off and reviews of balance and cash flow sheet.
  • Lead and manage the external auditor relationship and audit process to ensure controls matters are sufficient and address substantive audit issues & collaborate on statutory audits.
  • Manage relationships with external auditors, providing necessary documentation and addressing inquiries during the audit process.
  • Lead the adoption and implementation of initiatives for new accounting standards and regulatory requirements into financial reporting processes for respective markets, ensuring seamless transition and integration within the organization’s financial reporting framework.
  • Oversee the implementation of new accounting standards and regulatory requirements into financial reporting processes.
  • Analyse and interpret financial data to identify trends, variances, and key insights for management.
  • Develop and maintain financial reporting policies and procedures to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Enforce robust governance frameworks for key financial processes.
  • Provide advisory and education to business leaders to ensure consistent implementation and remediation of controls.
  • Maintain a comprehensive internal controls framework that mitigates financial risks and ensures accurate financial reporting.
Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or equivalent certification preferred.
  • Experience: Experience in financial reporting or public accounting, with a strong understanding of GAAP and IFRS and local financial and regulatory law. Proven experience with SEC filings and other regulatory reporting requirements.
    • Experience gained within a consulting firm would be a benefit.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret and present complex financial data clearly.

  • Technical Proficiency: Advanced proficiency in financial reporting tools and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Hyperion).

Languages: German and English proficiency - French language capability would be a distinct advantage.
