The Opportunity
How would you like to work for the #1 quick service restaurant operation in the world?! We currently have an opportunity for a Franchising Clerk in our Legal Department.
This position is integral to the efficient management of the franchise document process and involves drafting agreements, maintaining precedents and McDonald’s Franchise Disclosure Document, and providing strong organizational support. This position will provide you with an opportunity to hone your existing skills, enhance ways of working and work closely with and be mentored by other members of the legal team.

Principal Accountabilities
In addition to adhering to McDonald’s policies and procedures, principal accountabilities include, but are not limited to:
- Management of the franchise document process in respect of all aspects of franchising, including grants of new franchises, sales between operators and of corporate locations, and grants of new term
- Drafting of franchise and lease agreements, as well as ancillary and amending agreements
- Collection and verification of franchising information, and review of franchisee corporate structure information for compliance with guidelines
- Updating and maintaining franchising precedents and McDonald’s Franchise Disclosure Document
- Working closely with the Franchising team to manage priorities, enhance efficiencies and reply to queries
- Track the status of all franchise transactions, from initial request to receipt of executed agreements, and save all documents in appropriate e-folders using consistent naming conventions
- Prior experience in-house at a corporation or at a law firm in a clerk or franchising role
- Licensed as a paralegal, a law clerk designation or equivalent law clerk education
- Outstanding organizational skills with keen attention to detail
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills with a passion for learning
- Strong work ethic with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- Bilingualism is an advantage
