Job Description:

This director is part of the Global Communications team and responsible for leading a team that delivers an integrated strategy for Enterprise communications, convenings and experiences to inspire pride and confidence in McDonald’s business strategy.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Enterprise Convenings & Experiences:
    • Accountable for leading teams in the cross-functional strategy and production of the cadence of System convenings and experiences that inspire and motivate audiences. (e.g. Global Town Halls, Worldwide, Investor Updates etc.).
    • Partner with functions and markets to develop an integrated two year system plan for events and activations that engage all three legs of the stool in support of the enterprise transformation. 
    • Partner with Global Communications content teams and A123 to develop System events that bring business and reputation to life. 
  • Enterprise Communications Playbooks & Protocols:
    • Maintain Global System Communications protocols outlining policies and procedures for communications to System audience. 
    • Partner with A123 to develop playbooks for System events and convenings. 
    • Convene a System Communications Council that brings together stakeholders from across the business to advise on maximizing impact of system storytelling efforts. 
  • System Voices: Partner with International Segment Communications  to maintain a bench of functional and market stories and voices from all three legs of the stool to drive the enterprise narrative at events and through owned channels. 
  • System Channels Strategy: Partner with Story Lab on strategy and implementation of new and innovative technologies to reach and engage enterprise audiences.
  • Communications Academy:  Partner with learning and development on programs to upskill employees, people managers and leaders on communicating with impact.   
  • Prior corporate communications experience - both in strategy development and in execution
  • Outstanding writing and editing skills, with an eye to messaging for a range of internal and external communication channels and audience types
  • Excellent verbal communications skills
  • Experience advising and working with senior executives
  • Natural self-starter who demonstrates creative and critical thinking abilities, can focus and implement, with an eye for details
  • Effective collaborator who will work cross functionally across teams and geographies/ time-zones.
  • Curiosity and appreciation for new topics, issues, and cultures.
  • Ability to deliver new and creative ways of thinking, writing and executing communications.
