Job Description:

At McDonald’s we are on an exciting Digital journey to offer our customers more ordering options thus providing greater ease and convenience in today’s modern, busy society but also a more tailored experience through personal engagement. Our digital journey started with upgrades of our restaurants to include self-order kiosks and continues to evolve as we add and constantly improve many of our customer facing ordering points including the My McDonald’s App and working with our delivery partners As a Digital Optimisation Lead you will be responsible for identifying business opportunities, feature and UX optimisation, the product roadmap and liaising with the deployment and change team for prioritisation and deployment.

What will my accountabilities be?

You will be responsible for delivering a product strategy around our digital platforms:

  • Engage with Global teams to identify opportunities across the digital channels, defining IDEA tickets and influencing prioritisation for our market requests
  • Provide SME support to drive engagement and advocacy for your products with internal partners and Franchisees/restaurant teams to support and drive digital adoption
  • Work closely with the Adoption team to ensure all improvements are fully adopted across the business
  • Define requirements for your digital products to improve customer UX and ultimately improve conversion- based on input from analytics, market trends, technology innovations, design, industry standards, competitive intelligence, internal partners and customer feedback.
  • Recommend the prioritisation of the product roadmap based on business strategy alignment, technical feasibility and consumer desirability for the UK and Ireland.
  • Collaborate across functions (eg Market partners, IT, Programme Management and Operations) to support feature adoption
  • Lead and/or attend relevant multi-functional team meetings

What Team will I be a part?

You will work as part of the Technology Team for the UK and Global business. We are a high energy team, looking for an individual who can add their talent and personality to make us even better. You will optimise our digital channels to deliver a seamless UX to our customers, driving improved digital adoption across the business.

Who are my customers?

Internal: UK Technology, IT, Global Technology, Customer Services, RSG, Business Strategy & Insight, Marketing and Legal. External: Franchisees, Restaurants, Agencies, Suppliers & McDonald’s Customers

Qualifications:

A person who understands the importance of building relationships across the business, with excellent communication and influencing skills will do well in this role. You will need to have a customer first mindset both for internal and external customers. The ability to live and breathe our people values. An individual fulfilling this role will be passionate about and demonstrate success in:

  • Previous digital product experience required with a sound understanding of digital ordering platforms plus wider knowledge in how digital can drive financial benefit and improved customer experience.
  • Customer-centric mind-set with a real passion for discovering consumer behaviour, trends, and opportunities for innovation.
  • Strong communication skills - written, verbal and presentation
  • Experience in project management and ways of working (Agile or Waterfall)
  • Computer Literate - Sophisticated Excel & PowerPoint
  • Comfort and experience working in a fast paced and changing working environment * Experience in identifying and using external best practice to deliver best in class solutions
  • Display leadership behaviours and characteristics and a desire to develop self
  • Experience and an ability to think outside of the box to tackle problems Supporting change and technology transformation.
