Job Description
The Opportunity
McDonald’s is looking for a Cyber Security Officer to help shape and secure the future of our technology landscape. This is a hands-on role where you’ll lead the implementation of cyber security frameworks across people, processes, and technology—ensuring our systems and data remain protected in an ever-evolving digital environment.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Operate and enhance cyber security tools and processes.
- Lead incident response activities and simulations.
- Oversee outsourced SOC teams and cyber security partners.
- Facilitate audits, penetration tests, and vulnerability assessments.
- Drive remediation and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Review and update policies and standards in line with best practices.
- Provide cyber security expertise to support transformational change.
- Deliver clear, actionable reporting aligned to business KPIs.
Qualifications
What You’ll Need
- Strong technical skills in cyber security, including areas like identity and access management, risk management, network security, and security operations.
- Ability to lead and influence across cross-functional teams and global stakeholders.
- A proactive mindset with a passion for innovation and continuous improvement.
- Familiarity with cyber security frameworks and standards such as ISO/IEC 27001, Cyber Essentials, and NIST CSF.
- Excellent communication skills—able to translate complex technical concepts into business-friendly language.
- Organised, self-driven, and confident in driving change independently.
