Could you be our next Commercial Legal Counsel?

Are you ready to shape the legal landscape of one of the world’s most iconic brands? We’re looking for a passionate and commercially savvy Legal Counsel to join our dynamic legal team at McDonald’s. In this pivotal role, you’ll bring your expertise in supply chain management and franchising to support our business across a broad spectrum of commercial matters. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative legal solutions that drive our business forward while ensuring compliance and protecting our brand.

What can you expect on a day-to-day basis?

  • Navigating complex commercial issues across supply chain, franchising, and general commercial matters, ensuring legal compliance and addressing stakeholder concerns.
  • Drafting and negotiating commercial agreements that support both global and local operations.
  • Reviewing and advising on franchise agreements, ensuring alignment with legal requirements and the Franchise Code of Conduct.
  • Identifying and mitigating legal risks in areas such as food safety, franchising, supply chain, modern slavery, and commercial engagements.
  • Supporting corporate policy development and provide expert legal guidance to our customer service team.

Your keys to success:

  • 3-5 years PQE in commercial law (private practice experience is a bonus but not essential) with a current Australian legal practicing certificate.
  • A self-starter who can work independently and collaboratively as part of our team.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities between stakeholders.
  • Results-driven, proactive, and curious individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proven ability to balance legal risk against commercial business needs.
  • Deliver business-focused results and solutions, while bringing your own fun factor and sense of humour to our dynamic team culture.
