Department Overview
The Detection Engineering team within Global Cyber Security enables threat detection, system integration, and response automation across McDonald’s digital ecosystem. The team designs and manages log pipelines, RBAC, and security architecture to support detection and response operations.
Accountabilities & Responsibilities
The Analyst – Detection Engineering assists with day-to-day support of log source integrations, RBAC controls, and telemetry infrastructure supporting SIEM and SOAR operations. The role coordinates engineering tasks and supports detection and response enablement. Architects automation workflows and response logic to streamline security operations and reduce analyst workload. Coordinates tasks and support for SOAR integrations, response playbooks, and system-to-system orchestration. Coordinates automation workflows and response logic to streamline security operations and reduce analyst workload. Coordinates Detection development, from use case intake and design through validation and production deployment.
- Onboard log sources into SIEM and SOAR.
- Maintain platform authentication and RBAC configurations.
- Coordinate routine integration activities.
- Track onboarding workstreams and document configuration steps.
- Contribute to detection use case implementation.
- Support SOAR automation development and maintenance.
- Document configurations, scripts, and engineering workflows.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent technical training.
- 2+ years of experience in IT, cybersecurity, or engineering operations.
- Familiarity with SIEM and SOAR tools.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Hands-on log onboarding experience.
- Hands-on SIEM and SOAR experience
- Understanding of security telemetry concepts.
- Strong documentation and coordination skills.

Salary Range
The expected salary range for this role is $98,140.00 - $125,130.00 per year
