Job Description:The Global Strategic Sourcing Supervisor is responsible for sourcing and category/supplier management activities for several global categories supporting Restaurant Development. The Supervisor will collaborate with internal collaborators to develop requirements, evaluate RFx events, negotiate pricing and contracts, report savings, and implement supplier management and sourcing approaches. As part of McDonald's Global Supply chain, this position sits on the GRDE (Global Restaurant Development and Equipment) team within Global Strategic Sourcing Services (GSSS). GSSS is a dynamic, growing department that contributes directly to the company's bottom-line performance! GSSS consults with leaders throughout the company and supports initiatives that are driving McDonald’s into the future and enabling McDonald’s accelerated growth plans. This position may entail the supervision of Sourcing Analysts.
Principal Accountabilities
Accountabilities include, but are not limited to:
- Performing and championing GSSS’s Strategic Sourcing process
- Calculating baseline spend before project kickoff and savings after successful implementation.
- Developing project plans, results, metrics, and milestones for associated projects
- Scoring suppliers and supporting the supplier selection process
- Leading supplier negotiations
- Providing judgment on the value of the deal
- Supporting execution and transition activities (at times leading these efforts)
- Completing vital tasks to capture key supplier data (i.e. volumes, costs, product and service performance statistics, financial information, etc.)
- Identifying supplier risks and formulating suggested mitigation strategies
- Reviewing and approving vendor performance standards and measurements
- Providing input into annual category management plans
- Facilitating escalations on behalf of vendors and stakeholders
- Executing all necessary communications to ensure accurate and timely flow of information to internal customers, stakeholders, and suppliers.
- 4+ years’ experience in supply chain, strategic sourcing or commensurate experience in related functions
- Proficiency in Excel or similar tools.
- Proficient at communicating conclusions to leadership in a clear and concise manner.
- Strong grasp of standard methodologies in procurement, including supplier negotiations, selection, evaluation, management, and development; should be able to showcase practical experience.e.
- Negotiate and provide mutually beneficial contracts and business relationships.
- Build positive working relationships both internally and externally to provide McDonald’s with goods and services at the lowest Total Cost of Ownership and lowest risk.
- Able to problem solve and search for answers using internal and external network/sources.
